Have or have the fry fishing college

Posted in PROJECTS 2007 by Delphine BRISSET September 26 2008. |

As a teenager, period of life where individual encounter many changes both in terms of biological, social, food is an important first, because it will enable it to meet its growing food needs and secondly, because it is sometimes field assertiveness. Noting that their students sometimes have an unbalanced diet (rich in fats and sugars) and anarchic Loiret colleges have appealed to CODES 45.
To enable the youth to play their health in the field of nutrition, CODES conducted from December 2007 to May 2008, a project on diet and physical activity to 5 Colleges of Loiret.

The objectives were, first to raise awareness of nutrition education of the CESCs members using an educational tool validated, and a second time to strengthen and develop the capacity of adolescents to make choices appropriate to their needs, tastes, habits and lifestyle, encouraging them to take a critical look at the link between their environment, nutrition and physical activity.

The project, which was built around the workbook "Range & Baskets" of the INPES, affected 970 students from 6th to 3rd and mobilized over 50 personnel of Education (headmasters, CPE, nurses, teachers, librarians) creating a dynamic in the institutions concerned.
Each class has benefited from 2 to 3 interventions that took place during their regular course of physical education and sport, Life Sciences and Earth, mathematics, French ...

The particularity of this project lies in the fact that every teacher could choose an individualized for his class by selecting activities among the 45 sheets activities of the tool. Thus subjects as diverse as fair trade, the effects of physical activity on the body or a balanced diet have been addressed through various animation techniques (debates, brainstroming, coat of arms ....).
Based on this experience that made students and teachers reflect on their perceptions and behavior in terms of physical activity and nutrition, CODES renew such a project with institutions volunteers.

The context:

This is the rate of absenteeism among school Beaugency Township, the dropout proven by the youth of the city and risk behaviors of youth (petty crimes, speed, alcohol and consumption of psychoactive substances) have mobilized a number of professionals. Supported by elected township and teams of youth service Beaugency a "steering committee" initiated by the medical service of social Lycée François Villon was established. He regrouped, very open, staff of National Education, the Brigade for Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency (BPDJ), the Judicial Protection of Youth, firefighters, the Gendarmerie Nationale and many associations and institutional partners. One of the challenges is since 2004 to create a local network of professional and expand over time and actions.

The objectives of the project:
Develop local prevention of risk by educating youth, professionals, and everyone concerned one way or another by this issue.

1. Promote the emergence of a local network of professionals
2. Promote the expression of young people through personal and collective reflection on the themes alcohol, tobacco, drugs and illicit drugs and their family, friends and school.
3. Young people improve their knowledge of the hazards and risks driving.

History:
An initial action enabled both sides to better know and recognize. Professionals to participate in briefings. They first worked on the pipes at risk adolescents and is a display of BPDJ was selected to be operated at the library in the passage Pellieux in schools and youth service. This was pochette cd dis leur l’espoir mots d’ados being a teacher (acrostic, artistic productions, ...).
A leaflet information was built by adults and students. Simulations of accidents have been proposed to raise awareness of the danger of consumption associated with driving. Firefighters, police officers, elected officials and insurers have been able to bring their testimony.
Workshops expression (theater, dance, music) have allowed, over two years, 80 young people aged 11 to 15, to work on listening, sharing, development by the voice and body . Young people have been able to mobilize their abilities (or learn new ones) to manage their emotions, their self-esteem. They dared to occur, dared say and express their ill-being for some.
It should be noted that these workshops have worked with the greatest respect. If the floor was able to liberate and if young people were able to express their doubts, their hopes, their desires to talk with their parents, is that "rules of living together" were chosen. It should be noted that heavy things have happened in the group. The personal stories have helped to raise more than the consequences of alcohol and psychoactive substances. Solidarity and confidentiality are values that have made any sense in the workshops.
No comma has been moved, not a word changed by the moderator, Minouche, who has worked with students to bring a touch of color and hope in their perceptions of the world and of our complex society. The texts are sometimes hard, tough and full of orders but never mind ... it is their words, their strength to tell others ... STOP!
The motivation and involvement of the 40 adolescents, the pugnacity of adults who have surrounded and their desire to exploit the wealth of texts written at these workshops, the presence of artistic, musical and human ... all these ingredients have allowed in 2006-2007 to music productions youth, record and song texts, and to seek the latest financing and finalize an audio CD.

The methodology of action
All project activities are now brought by the Health Education and Citizenship (CESC) Robert GOUPIL college. It is an essential organ that is probably the key to success. CESC has brought together parents, students, teachers, external partners. It is a place of dialogue that has led to a synergy between the professional recognition of their skills and better coherence of social intervention.
Already, links have been established with the Suicide Prevention Network, the Family Allowances Fund of Loiret, students of the Institute of Nursing Chalette-sur-Loing (IFSI), the MSA MSA Coeur de Loire ...
An outlook is to work in "inter-CESC on the block. The project promoters hoped that the tool created Cd may be shared and that all colleges, preventive actions will be implemented in accordance with common rules. There is a desire to promote activities in the college education of students and to sustain the Lycée François Villon.

Public funding: Where were you?
The only financial support over time to this project of Public Health, were mostly those of Private Pensions, banks insurance. There is something that is currently happening Beaugency side. There are energies, desires to promote health. The college is GOUPIL participate in CESC new professionals. It is the openness is there.

From the perspective of young people who participated in the project, is enthusiasm. We are proud of having written it felt that dared not speak. They met for adults to listen to them and made trust that enabled them to overcome sometimes.
